Decor

Since I will be here in Canterbury for 13 weeks I took advantage of the poster store and bedding packs on campus. So i have a bed spread now, kinda excited. I think if I held it up to the light i could do a puppet show behind it because it is so transparent. I have a plain version and a splotchy 80s pattern one.
But, my posters liven up the room. I have the Abbey Road one as a reminder that I am in England, a Grimshaw one of a bay area, one of Charlie Chaplin that says "A day without laughter is a day wasted", one with Friends on it and advice you learn from the show like "When moving a couch upstairs, Pivot", and last but not least a civil rights poster. Yes, that is where it gets odd. It is a great picture of the Selma to Montgomery March. It is in black and white except for the two American flags that are in color. Then across the top it says "From Every Mountainside Let Freedom Ring" -MLK.
1. I know he said that, but I think its a little more "My Country Tis of Thee" than MLK
2. Next to it is a picture of the Obamas and the Queen
3. I would never think of hanging this up in my room at home, but here I couldn't let a picture of Alabama go un-bought
4. Is there really a market in England for 44 year old pictures of the Civil Right Struggle in America?
So apparently being in England has made me very very into Civil Rights.
I also have seven postcard photos of Prince Harry or some type of Royal gathering scattered around the room amongst famous paintings I have seen thus far. These include the family ski vacation, polo matches, a wedding, even a baby photo at Kensington Palace. My favorite is the large family photo taken in Clarence House where they live now and that I got to visit. The two Princes are sitting on these very odd bright red chairs. One was by the door as I was leaving, I touched it. I am not ashamed.
