Starting Oxford

We have officially begun class. The format is we have breakfast all together in a Harry Potter like setting then our first class for an hour. Then everyone has coffee or tea in the pub for 30 minutes. After that we go to a lecture that is taught by one of the professors or fellows. Then we end with our second class then lunch in the same format. My first class is History of British Politics. The professor is a fellow at Oriel college. He is very young and very disheveled and very self deprecating. Very English. We were supposed to list the major political events of the UK and of the USA in the 20th century. We did pretty well with the US although he did have to remind us of some dates, and one person that the 20th century meant 1900s, then not so great with the UK. One guy said the death of Princess Di was one in the top 25. We have a lot to learn I'm guessing.
My second class is about the medieval age. The professor is old, organised, mumbles and does not like the US. Very English. That one will take some effort to get through. The classroom is right next to my bedroom which was awkward and annoying, in that all I started thinking about after he had asked why the Victorians were interested in the Medieval Ages (rhetorically) in about 17 different ways, was how close my bed was.
Lizzie and Elizabeth, we bought the poster Ruth had and are going to get all the way through it.

We don't have Internet so I don't have time to be in depth or witty. When they set up wireless, which better be soon because I am on a cliffhanger on The Tudors, I'll have better entries. Promise.

Cheers.
