The past four weeks I have been in Northern England just below the Lake District. It has been an interesting experience. For one, I had to cook every meal. Never done that before. In fact I can make a coca-cola cake and that is pretty much it. The school, Lancaster University, does not have a meal plan nor a dining hall even. My diet got kinda eventful with corn being my staple. Also, it rains everyday in up there. That is not an exaggeration. It was cold and rainy there at all times, but that translates into beautiful green landscapes. William Wordsworth was the most famous inhabitant of the area as well as Beatrix Potter. Both were inspired to write their books and poems by the area. Trust me Rabbits are everywhere, it was the daffodils that were hard to find.
I really enjoyed the area. I met some really interesting people and made good friends from different parts of the States, it was a American summer school. I think the area is kinda of like the Southern United States it is the beauty and cultural history that you should come to see. There are not a lot of famous attractions, but going into a shop or simply riding along on the streets is what is the most delightful and not a lot of places in the world can boast that.
